CEREC is a great tool to restore teeth. However I see a lot of doctors struggle with efficiency during CEREC workflows.
In this blog I want to present a simple quadrant case that shows a combination of direct and indirect restorations and how to sequence it for efficiency .
This patient presented with a need to restore the LL quad. #18 and #20 needed direct resin restorations.
#19 had a distal cusp fracture and was a diagnosed for an onlay.
To make things efficient the onlay was prepped , scanned and sent to mill.
While the Emax Onlay was milling for #19, the composite restorations on #18 and #20 were prepped.
By the time I was done with prepping 18 and 20, the emax Onlay was milled. So it was tried in and sent to glaze.
While the onlay was glazing , the composite fillings on 18 and 20 were completed.
By the time I was done with the fills on 18 and 20 , the onlay was done glazing.
Then the Emax Onlay was cemented.
Rubber dam was only placed once in this case, that was after the onlay was prepped and scanned.
Total Treatment time : 80 minutes.
